When you think about shag area rugs, you probably think of the old days of lava lamps and tie-dyed clothing. Though homes or even an entire rooms made entirely of shag is not seen very often anymore, this does not mean that there is a no place for shag in a modern setting. Today, a shag area rug you find in the store that will go into your living room or in your bedroom is made of soft fiber, and designs and modern colors that match the colors you have chosen to complement your home. It feels good too.
Your bedroom is not the only place for the new, soft, and the designer shag area rugs. Your child may also love these. They are not going to think that their new rug is anything but very cool. You will find bright colors such as pink, purple, and aqua blue for your child’s room, and bright bold red or yellow for your teens. Boys might especially enjoy colors like brown, navy and slate blue. You can also find some good colors for a baby nursery.
To decorate with shag area rugs, you really can do anything you want. If you have an early white décor, a pure white shag area rug will look very good. If you want to go with a darker shade, do it. However, stay away from covering the entire room with shag, no matter how modern carpet is. It will look dated to you; even if this is the first time you have ever seen shag. Go with plush carpeting, instead.
